Daxi Old Street: Make this visit work

Choose the correct arrival station

HSR Taoyuan is the starting point for Taiwan Tourist Shuttle 501 toward Daxi. From Taoyuan TRA station, 5096 is a different approach to Daxi bus terminus. Airport MRT does not reach the old street: airport arrivals must first transfer to the relevant bus or arrange a taxi. Check the travel-day stop and return departure.

Two ways to use your time

Editorial choice: with 2–3 hours at Daxi, concentrate on Heping Road facades and one tofu/snack break. With a half day, walk on to selected Wood Art Ecomuseum buildings and then the Daxi Bridge approach via Zhongzheng Park. These are separate walking legs; the bridge adds a descent and return climb.

Museum visits are a separate decision

The ecomuseum is a network of buildings, not one ticketed hall on the street. Choose a currently open exhibition building before the walk; if it is closed, keep the old street and park route rather than waiting for a guaranteed opening. Allow bus-waiting time outside the suggested sightseeing time.
