七星潭
A sweeping pebble beach where the mountains meet a deep-blue Pacific. Best enjoyed by bike in the soft morning light.
From Hualien Bus Station beside the railway station, check route 310 for Qixingtan and alight at the Qixingtan stop; walk from the stop into the seafront recreation area. A taxi to Qixingtan is an alternative when the return bus does not fit. The station is not on the beach.
This is a pebble shore for watching the Pacific, not a swimming stop. Keep back from breaking waves; wind, rain and uneven stones can make a shore walk unsuitable. Choose a city-food afternoon instead when conditions are poor.
Editorial plan: keep one daylight shore walk, then return by bus or taxi to the city before Dongdamen dinner. Do not treat Qixingtan and the night market as adjacent walking stops; settle the return ride before lingering at the shore.
