Shuishe arrival and visitor information

At Shuishe (水社), first check the 日月潭 / 水社 bus stop signs and your return departure. The official Shuishe shopping-area page lists a bus stop and an Information Station for travel information. Use its listing to locate visitor help before continuing to the pier or bicycle route.

A search or stop label saying “Shuishe Visitor Center” refers to the Shuishe area; it is not Xiangshan Visitor Center (向山行政暨遊客中心), a separate destination at No. 599, Zhongshan Road. Check your bus branch if you intend to continue to Xiangshan. Do not assume the two places share facilities or service hours.

Returning from Shuishe to Taichung ↓

From HSR Taichung to Shuishe

1. At HSR Taichung (高鐵臺中站), follow Exit 5 to the first-floor bus terminal, Platform 3. Recheck the departure board for Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Sun Moon Lake Route (台灣好行日月潭線).
2. Confirm that your departure reaches 日月潭 in the Shuishe area. Route 6670 has different branches: via Puli, direct services and some extensions to Xiangshan. Match the branch and stops to your timetable.
3. On arrival, locate the return stop and check your bus back before walking to the pier, renting a bicycle or starting the day-trip itinerary.

Check the travel date and HSR boarding time in the official timetable. Allow flexible transfer time rather than relying on a fixed journey duration.

From central Taichung / TRA Taichung

1. Nantou Bus Gancheng station (臺中干城站) is at No. 35-8, Section 1, Shuangshi Road (雙十路一段35-8號). Walk to this separate bus station from TRA Taichung; follow the official boarding map rather than looking for an HSR platform.
2. The nearby railway-station stop is 臺中車站（民族路口）, in front of No. 103, Jianguo Road (建國路103號前). Confirm the Sun Moon Lake direction and the exact stop with the route map before waiting.
3. Check that your branch reaches 日月潭, not just Puli. The official route guide recommends Gancheng or HSR boarding when intermediate-stop boarding is limited by full or reserved seats.

Use the official route guide for the street-stop map and the timetable for your departure. TRA Taichung and HSR Taichung are different stations.

From Shuishe back to Taichung

1. Return to Nantou Bus Sun Moon Lake station (日月潭站) at No. 163, Zhongshan Road (中山路163號), in the Shuishe Visitor Center area opposite the police station. Match 日月潭 / 水社 on the timetable and stop signs; the pier is not the bus boarding point.
2. Choose the Taichung-bound direction, not a bus continuing toward Xiangshan. Check the full branch code and ask staff or the driver which Shuishe-area stop that departure uses.
3. For a train connection, confirm 高鐵臺中站 appears on your service. For central Taichung, confirm 臺中車站（民族路口） or 臺中干城站. Do not assume every branch serves the same stops.
4. Check the last usable return before starting a cruise or bicycle ride. Leave room for waiting, traffic and your HSR transfer; avoid a tight final train connection.

On the live page, select Inbound for the Taichung direction. It shows the 6670F branch via Xiangshan only; use the full timetable to check other branches. A live end-of-service message is not a permanent route closure.

The official route guide lists cash and IC-card payment; tap the card when boarding and alighting. Check the linked booking rules for seat reservations and reporting time. A ticket or package does not by itself guarantee a reserved seat.
